Delete your account
Last updated 29 October 2026
You can delete your Tablegrub account at any time, in the app or by email. Here is how, and exactly what happens to your data.
In the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap the pencil button at the top of your profile to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Confirm, and approve with Sign in with Apple once more when asked. Your account is deleted, you are signed out, and your profile disappears from Tablegrub straight away.
Deleting your account in the app also disconnects Tablegrub from your Apple Account. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Use Delete account first.
By email
Write to hello@tablegrub.com with the subject "Delete my account" and your username.
To make sure the request really comes from you, we reply with a short code. Add it to your bio in the app (Profile, then the pencil) and tell us. Once we see it, we delete the account. If you can no longer sign in to the app, say so, and we will find another way to confirm the account is yours.
An email deletion cannot disconnect Sign in with Apple for you. Whichever way you delete, if Tablegrub still shows among the apps that use Sign in with Apple, in your iPhone's Settings under your name, you can remove it there.
What is erased
- Your profile: username, name and bio.
- Your sign-in details: the account identifier, and any email address, that Apple gave us.
- Your comments and your journeys.
- Your saves, follows and blocked people.
- The link between you and your searches in the app.
Drafts, and the posts and comments you hid, are kept only on your phone. They go when you delete the app.
What stays, under "Former member"
Your posts and the likes you gave stay on Tablegrub, so the visit and like counts that other people rely on stay accurate. The photos, dish names and notes stay, but they show "Former member" instead of your name, with no username or bio.
They do stay grouped together under that one former account, and a photo or a note can still say something about who wrote it. If that matters to you, ask us to remove them, as below.
Reports you made, and decisions about them, are kept for 2 years after the case closes, as the Privacy Policy explains, so we can deal with repeated abuse.
Removing your posts too
You can delete your posts one by one in the app before you delete your account. Or ask us to remove them all, photos included: email hello@tablegrub.com with the subject "Delete my posts".
You can ask at any time, before or after you delete your account. Before, include your username. After, point us to one of your posts, or tell us the place and date of one; because your posts stay together under the former account, we can find and remove the rest. We may ask you to show they are yours.
How long it takes
- Your profile disappears
- Straight away, or once you confirm by email
- Your account is fully erased
- Within 30 days
- Posts you asked us to remove
- Within 30 days
- Copies in our backups are gone
- Within 12 months
Backups are only there to recover from a disaster. If we ever have to restore one, we delete again every account and post that was deleted after the backup was made.
Deleting your account cannot be undone. You are welcome to sign up again later, but it will be a new account, and your old posts cannot be moved to it.
